Cataract surgery, in general, is a painless procedure. It’s performed in our outpatient surgical center, where we perform thousands of cataract surgeries every year. We have an expert trained anesthesiologist and a team of anesthetists that provide a customized anesthesia plan for you. It typically involves eye drops for anesthesia and some sort of sedation that goes intravenously. This combination of anesthesia and sedation is highly effective; patients are breathing on their own and are able to recover very quickly and really start enjoying the good vision afterward.
