Kathryn B. Freidl, M.D.
Dr. Kathryn B. Freidl, a Board-Certified Ophthalmologist, completed her glaucoma fellowship at the prestigious Wills Eye Institute in Philadelphia and her residency at Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York. She joined Florida Eye Specialists in 2011, recognized for pioneering minimally invasive techniques in Jacksonville, she emphasizes patient-centered care and modern treatments.
S. Akbar Hasan, M.D.
Dr. S. Akbar Hasan is a Board-Certified Ophthalmologist, fellowship-trained specialist in cornea, LASIK, and cataract surgery. He completed his residency at Baylor College of Medicine and a fellowship at Duke University. Dr. Hasan served as the lead cataract and corneal surgeon at Mayo Clinic before joining Florida Eye Specialists in 2012.
David A. Kostick, M.D.
Dr. David A. Kostick is a Board-Certified Ophthalmologist and fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He completed his residency at Cleveland Clinic and a fellowship in Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at West Virginia University. He served as Assistant Professor and Consultant of Ophthalmology at the Mayo Clinic for 16 years before joining Florida Eye Specialists in 2012. Recognized in Best Doctors in America since 2005, Dr. Kostick specializes in eyelid, eye socket, and lacrimal system surgeries including cosmetic and reconstructive procedures.
McGregor N. Lott, M.D.
Dr. McGregor N. Lott is a Board-Certified Ophthalmologist, fellowship-trained in medical retina and cataract surgery. He completed his residency in ophthalmology at the Medical College of Georgia and his fellowship in Medical Retina at the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute in Miami. He joined Florida Eye Specialists after working for Mayo Clinic in his hometown of Waycross, Georgia. Dr. Lott has received several special awards throughout his career, including the Avatar Excellent Award, presented annually to ophthalmologists with patient satisfaction ratings above the 90th percentile.
Jason F. Miles, M.D.
Dr. Jason F. Miles, is a Board-Certified Ophthalmologist. He graduated from Florida State University College of Medicine and completed his residency and cornea and external disease fellowship at UF Health in Gainesville. Inducted into Alpha Omega Alpha and The Gold Humanism Honor Society for his achievements and compassionate care, he joined Florida Eye Specialists in 2021, specializing in corneal infections, cataracts, and corneal transplantation.
Ravi R. Patel, M.D.
Dr. Ravi R. Patel, is a Board-Certified Ophthalmologist and a founding partner at Florida Eye Specialists. He completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Miami and his M.D. at the University of Florida. He received advanced training in cornea and refractive surgery at the prestigious Shiley Eye Center, UC San Diego. With over 10,000 cataract surgeries performed, Dr. Patel is recognized for his expertise in cataract surgery, corneal transplants, and the treatment of Keratoconus and leadership roles, including Chief of Ophthalmology at Baptist Health and President of the Duval Society of Ophthalmology.
Rajesh Shetty, M.D.
Dr. Rajesh Shetty is a Board-Certified, double fellowship-trained ophthalmologist specializing in cataract and glaucoma surgeries. He served on the clinical staff of the Mayo Clinic for more than 7 years as an Assistant Professor in Ophthalmology prior to founding Florida Eye Specialists in 2009. Dr. Shetty is currently the CEO and Managing Partner of the practice and the surgery center.
Allison Welch, COT - Concierge Consultant
Alli is an Office Manager at Florida Eye Specialists, and lead Concierge Consultant of Florida Eye Select. She graduated with an AA from the University of Central Florida and completed two Bachelor Degrees at the University of North Florida. Shortly after graduating in 2015, we welcomed her to Florida Eye Specialists. In her time at Florida Eye Specialists, she has excelled in many departments, became a Certified Ophthalmic Technician (COT), and has played a key role in advancing our practice. Under her leadership, we were able to launch Florida Eye Select, and truly provide unmatchable care to our patients.
Candace Nagle, COA - Concierge Consultant
Candace is an Office Manager at Florida Eye Specialists, and Concierge Consultant of Florida Eye Select. She received her AA at FSCJ and continues to make strides in her education. Candace joined Florida Eye Specialists in 2014. Since joining, she has surpassed the expectations in all departments, received her Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) certification, and truly paved the way to excellence.

Florida Eye Select is a membership-based premium ophthalmic service under a concierge medicine model—also known as concierge care, or boutique medicine. This membership pairs exclusive, personalized eye care with accessibility and convenience.
02 Does my insurance cover the cost of this membership?
Florida Eye Select membership fee is an out-of-pocket expense and cannot be billed to your insurance.
03 Are doctor visits and treatments included with membership?
Visits and treatments are not covered by your membership. While we accept most insurance plans, your Florida Eye Select physician will continue to bill insurance, including copays, co-insurance, and deductibles as applicable.
